Educating. Guiding. Inspiring.

Maura Scatenato Murphy is a theater educator, director, and arts advocate who founded Little Lights Theater Co. in 2022 with a clear mission: to educate, guide, and inspire young people through the transformative power of theater.
Grounded in the belief that “theater is a gym for empathy,” Maura created Little Lights as a space where creativity, confidence, and collaboration thrive. Her work centers on building inclusive, joyful environments where students feel safe to explore, take risks, and grow, both as performers and as people.

Through Little Lights Theater Co., Maura works with energetic, imaginative children ages 4–14 from across Westchester County, fostering a love for storytelling while teaching essential life skills such as teamwork, self-expression, and emotional awareness. Whether guiding a future Broadway star or a student discovering theater for the first time, Maura approaches each child with care, humor, and intention.

Maura is passionate about making theater accessible, meaningful, and fun-and she is proud to lead a community where the drama stays on stage, and the growth lasts a lifetime.
